As discussed in the article Customizing Toolbars, icons are great shortcuts; With a click of the mouse, an action can be performed that otherwise would take several keystrokes or clicks.

A quick and easy method of deleting or moving an icon is to press the Alt key (do not release Alt key) and left-click on the appropriate icon and drag the icon to a new location on a toolbar or drag it "off" the toolbar. Release Alt key once icon is in new location or has been removed.

This method works in most MS Office and Corel WordPerfect Suite products.
