Alpha characters can automatically be entered in upper case by setting
the format to upper case. This is handy to ensure that all entries are
upper case no matter how the characters are actually keyed.
The upper
case formatting can be set in the Format property of a field in
the Design View.
Table Example:
- Switch to Design View of a Table
- Select the Field Name (in example
below Company Name)
- In the Field Properties
section click insert a > ("greater
than" sign) in the
Format property

- Save Table and switch to Datasheet
View
- Data entered into field will
automatically be entered in upper case
Form/Report Example:
- Switch to Design View of
Form/Report
- Right-mouse click on control box of
field to open the field Properties box (in sample below
Company Name)
- In the Format box fill in >
("greater than" sign)

- Save Form and switch to Form/Print
Preview View
- Data entered into field will
automatically be entered in upper case
